statue of limitation of old credit debt in texas

I am in the process of cleaning up my credit. I am about $30,000 in debt and I have already settled on one account. My first questions what are the statue of limitations in texas on old credit debt and who can I contact to fax or email me the specifics on my state. I was informed after seven years I could have the old debt removed by faxing all three credit agencies. I am not sure if that applies to everything though like cars, medical bills, credit cards etc. so I will need that information as well. My husband got hurt and we incurred massive medical bills. How do I handle that if they have not yet hit the statue of limitations. What is the most effective way to handle old debt?
