I am an independent escort. I know before you say anything, theres nothing wrong with selling companionship; there is an extremely thin line between escort and prostitute. However I have an idea and I wanted to know the legal limitations. So lets say I wanted to create a business where I was promoting the creation of Personal Home Adult Movies. I would cater to men who dont like seeing the man in traditional pornography films, men who have video fettishes and guys who would like to create their own personal collection of self flics kind of like their own collection of personally starred in porn films. The client would contact me with his fantasy, I would set up location, hire an actress make sure I have all the materials to film, and after filming I edit the footage and I can send it to them a few weeks later. I have a partner we are trying to start up an online adult video site for our local area, I was thinking the clients can either pay extra to have exclusive rights to the video or other wise gift the footage to us {instead of getting a video} in exchange for VIP membership access. The website would have a)Normal content (non explicit materials), paid-membership content (videos, pictures and such) and VIP content could be a number of things (from blooper/outtakes reel, to behind the sceens footage, More explicit content ect... I realize it would be just me and another girls idea putting this together. Since we are both independent escorts I would contract her and she would contract me to film. I would charge XXX amount, pay the actress X amount of $ for her time in the project, X amount would go to business costs (any and all business expenses) and X amount would go to me for my time in the whole thing. Subsequently it would be the same for her. I just need to make sure i can clearly show what I want to achieve is seperate from prostitution, where the client could easily go on backpage or the their local redlight district and easily obtain sexual services (and even phone video) for payment. With my business I am not only selling a fantasy product but as well as creating online content that can be purchased. I have already went through the business licenses I would need, just need to know where the line is....

This is not a DIY project. Not by a long shot. You need expert legal advice, not an internet legal forum.

The best advice is now that you've considered it, dismiss it from your memory and thoughts.
Many have tried, many have failed.

If this were easy, it would be licensed, taxed, and lots of people would plying this trade.

I suggest you steer very far away from any thoughts of doing this, IF you value sleeping in your own bed, eating at your own table, wearing your own clothes.

I can tell you that what you proposed has cost several people their freedom and lots of money.

It won't work because THE MAN doesn't want it to work.

FUGGEDABOUT it..........

I agree - not a very good idea. If you decide to go ahead & pursue, you *definitely* need legal advice from a lawyer.

I don't know of any lawyer who would advise this person HOW to do this.

Why?

If a lawyer did advise someone in this arena, they'd be violating the canon of ethics among many other things.

This seems to pat, as if it was a test from law enforcement or a bar investigator.

It's certainly not a DIY project - OP would need expert legal advice from someone other than a forum volunteer as noted in first reply to OP. Whether they talk to a lawyer or someone else (who I don't know), the advice could very well be don't do it/can't help you.

This is a "very unusual" post - does sort of seem like it was a test ......... (now that you mention it).
