Spamming laws

Are there any spamming laws that make it a crime for people to spam? I don't want to be a part of some business if they spam people and it could get me in trouble. Is there a law that says what spam is? These business owners say that their marketing isn't in violation of any of the spam laws.

Agree. If you do a google search, you can find a lot of information on spam laws including state spam laws.
