No...not literally anything. The guy isn't going to get life in prison or the death penalty. If you can afford it and choose to - yes. Or if he doesn't have the ability to afford a lawyer, he can apply for a public defender.
Literally anything could result from this.

Actually the chances of OP's son getting life in prison for paraphernalia and residue is about the same chance that I will vote for trump. Zero. Zilch. Nada.Well - actually there are people who have gotten life in prison for selling marijuana. Usually a specific group of people get those sentences though...so maybe the only thing not is death penalty.

Perhaps Leslie hopped in the DeLorean to find the punishment for misdemeanor possession?I have a cousin.
He was convicted of possession back in 1963.
He got 40 years in a federal penitentiary.
He also received 20 years in a VA prison, but the feds incarcerated him.
His VA time was served consecutively.
The authorities found less than 1/2 an ounce in a garbage can on his rural home, way back in a "holler" deep in Appalachia's Blue Ridge.
I suspect today he'd have walked with probation.

Yes.....thc residueDid you mean THC? If so, was this JUST marijuana? If so, marijuana is a totally different classification from other illegal drugs (it isn't nearly as bad). If it was a small quantity there are many ways good legal counsel can help to minimize the damage or even avoid conviction.
Does he have an attorney?Yes.....thc residue
