Kohls recently called the cops and accused me of shoplifting. They did not detain me at the store but apparently followed me to my car and got my licence plate number. The cop who showed up at my work said he saw a video of me going into the fitting room and coming out with a fuller purse. I tried to tell him I left everything in there but he and the loss prevention guy claim I didn't. What's going to happen?
Never talk to the police.
Never try to explain why or why not, because anything you say can and will be used against you.
Okay, if they return, simply say, "I wish to invoke my right to remain silent."
Be polite, and its okay to give your name, address, date of birth, etc..., be polite, but no matter what, do not discuss anything about this, or any other case.
That bit about a fat purse was nothing, until you blabbed.

Do as the professor instructs, say nothing, and never cop to anything.
