Hello, recently I was talked to by my LP guy and have been caught stealing merchandise from my store. He mentioned he wasn't calling the cops or anything and we decided on the price of $200 of what I stole. I wrote my statement down and then he told me he would call me back for anything else. I agreed to pay that back. And then was escorted out and my DM just called to terminate me. I am wondering what is going to happen. I am not normally like this. I don't do this. I have been severely depressed and it's just not like me. I want to know if it's going to go on my permanent record or if I am going to go to jail just what's going to happen???

Its over.
Stop stealing.
You may have trouble finding employment in retail again, but otherwise there should be nothing further (unless you still haven't paid what was agreed).

It sounds like this should be over since the police were not called. However; if your former employer is called for a reference by a prospective employer, they can give the reason for your termination. Your name might also be put in a retail theft data base.

You do need to pay back what was agreed/decided on.

You need to look for other employment. You can "try" for unemployment ins. but doubtful you will receive it based on the reason for your termination.

I am a Retail Theft consultant and answer questions like yours daily. With no Police involvement the chances of jail are almost zero. Keep your word exactly as you agreed so not to provoke a criminal filing. You need also be concerned in your name is place in a Retail Theft Database if it is working retail is out of the question
