    Will I be summoned to appear in court for shoplifting a worth of $48 dollar metchandise with no arrest or police involved? First offense and they took the metchandise. I paid the demand Bill of $250 dollars

    Unlikely.

    No police, no arrest, you paid. That usually ends it.

    You'll just have to sweat it out for a few months.

    I am a Retail Theft Consultant and answer questions like yours daily. No one can say for certain but I can safely say the store has NOTHING to gain by filing a criminal complaint at this point

    Generally if you paid the civil demand & no police were called originally, that will be the end of it but no one can say for sure.
