Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Second MIP/19 years old

I receieved an MIP the first week of school. Before i appeared at my court date, i received another MIP. I have no other charges on my name, and im currently a student. What is the typical punishment for the situation? Should i get a lawyer? The second MIP I had no alcohol on my person and the cop had no reason to expect anything. But i was afraid and lied about who i was. Then he found out i was lying but didnt write it on my ticket. Should i fight it?

I don't know enough about your situation in regards to the second MIP to give you much advice.

Is this in East Lansing by any chance?

2nd MIP you might be looking at a probation that makes you take random/daily breath tests, etc.

MIP was a civil infraction a while ago, unfortunately, now it's a misdemeanor. . .

I'M the dipshit? YOU got 2 MIP's and will get worse if the cop tells the Judge you lied. I wasn't being a smart alack. The advice is just what you need. I was an attorney. I just sat in on an MIP case YESTERDAY so yes I do know what I'm talking about you snot nosed brat. If you are going to rebel, drink illegally, hang around those that are drinking illegally, and lie to cops, get use to suffering the consequences. Your attitude tells me everything I need to know.

Guess what? Now that you got 2 MIP's you can't even use the first offender act so you and your smart alack attitude are screwed.

Let me repeat my good advice: Get a LAWYER, stop drinking while you are under age, find better friends, stop lying to cops before you find yourself in a hole you can't get out of. And while you are at it, learn some respect for the people you came asking advice from.
