I am about to sign a one year lease at a new apartment, but the building is for sale. If it is sold after I sign the lease, is the lease still valid? The current owners told me it would still be valid, but I wanted to check legally. If anybody knows anything about this, please let me know.

I'm wondering the SAME thing... I'm in the same situation (though I have already signed the lease) and have been told the same thing....

Yes the lease should still be valid. The new owners will be required to uphold it.

The answer lies in the lease.

What are the written words about this subject?

You cannot rely on what anyone tells you; it's what is in writing that counts, nothing else.
