I was pulled over after a police officer stoped behind me at a stop light. I had an unpaid speeding ticket an he said my license had been suspended. He told me he was not going to be arested just a ticket. He allowed me to use his phone to call for a ride an then arrested me placed me in his cruser an searched my car an purse. Never read my rights. Nothing was found in my car or purse. I was issued a ticket for my license being suspended an when my father arrived he let me go. Did he have the right to search my car an purse? Did he have the right to pull me over just from running my tags? Does he have to read me my rights? Licking County, Ohio

Yes he had the right to pull you over from running your tags. Yes he had the right to search your car and purse because you have an arrest warrant and you where restrained. No he dose not have to read you your rights unless he is questioning you.
