Overstay, Illegal Status Resident Status Upon Death

My Colomibian wife and I (I'm a U.S. citizen) have been married for just over 2 years. She is currently on her provisional residency, pending the final interview in March of next year. If I were to pass prior to the interview, what would happen to her? Would she be forced to return to Colombia? Thanks.

I don't believe so. Let me ask because I have to - is there any reason you think you won't be around too long? I hope it's not a terminal health issue - is there another?
