Homicide, Murder, Manslaughter Research for Movie

I'm writing a crime-procedural TV pilot. I am wondering if a person commits a triple homicide in West New York, New Jersey can they be tried in New York for any reason? Is there a reason they could be extradition to Manhattan.

Perhaps they were also wanted for other major crimes in New York?
As for the three murders in West New York they would be tried in the county where the crime occurred. If for some reason there was a change of venue it would be within the state of New Jersey.
