Renter skipped out!

What can I do if I had a contract with a renter and he just left and broke contract?
I have his social but no current address.

If you can find his address (do some internet searches), then you can file against him for owed rent.

Most landlords wait until the unit is rerented, then file for the months the unit was empty (if still within the time frame of the rental contract), the cost of advertising to rerent it and for any damages above normal wear and tear that the security deposit did not cover.

If you know where this person works, check to see if they can be served there.

Most of these cases go through Small Claims Court unless the amount owed is so great that it is larger than that allowed in Small Claims in your particular state.
