In May of 2008 I signed a one year lease on a house in Los Angels CA. I gave the Owner deposit for first and last month. I just got a letter in the mail from Countrywide home loan, addressed to the owner of the house demanding payment for the last 4 months! in other words, the owner has not paid his mortgage since I moved in. What should I do? Am I entitled to "last month rent" if I decide to move out. Should I move out?

Where we live, you could stay for three months before anyone can make you move. They would have to take legal steps that require lots of time and hassle to get you out. I would at least stay until they take legal action, then move.
I'm not a lawyer-reseach your rights on the net, I'm sure you can find more info there.

Again (as previously asked), why are you opening mail not addressed to you?

You do nothing. As the other poster mentioned, if the house should go into foreclosure this will not happen overnight. It's not unusual that houses that go into foreclosure are purchased by investors who wish to continue keeping the same tenants.
