For legal purposes, is a LLP considered a legal entity. More precisely, small claims rules in Wisconsin allow nominal attorney fees to be awarded to the prevailing party if he is represented by a lawyer UNLESS that prevailing party IS a lawyer and he represents himself. If a group of attorneys AND the LLP to which they are members are sued and they are successful in defending themselves, are they entitled to statutory attorney fees. It would seem that if the LLP is considered a seperate legal entity and it defends itself, it would fall under the same rule that denies recoverable fees to a lawyer who defends himself. Any comments? Thank you
