Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication record no military

I recently tried to join the army but was turned down due to my record.1 drug charge for crystal meth and 1 theft charge.the national guard also turned me down but the recruiter mentioned something about getting an attorney and getting the charges dropped not sealed or expunged.Is this possible the case has been closed for a almost a year(since off of informal probation)I live a good life now and want to join the military for myself and my wife and son.Any advice would mean alot to me that way I know if I should borrow money to get an attorney since I am now unemployed.My home state is nevada.

You should contact a lawyer they probably know how to drop fast that charges from your record.

Yes but i really cant afford one so I would like to make sure this is even a concievable notion before i borrow the money for a lawyer.I have never heard of it being possible to get charges dropped on a closed case.just sealed or expunged but not removed from one's record.
