Hi all! I started a page on social media raffling off various items. Each person pays a specific amount and then I draw and one person wins. I am making money off of this. Is this legal if I'm paying taxes on it end of year?

Absolutely illegal. The fact that you are paying taxes just reduced the number of laws you are breaking.

And doing over state lines makes it a federal crime.


You are one upset player away from major problems.

Doesn't matter if you pay taxes or not, you're operating illegally if you aren't licensed by the state:

Whether or not you can even get a license is anybody's guess.

Right now you need to stop what you are doing and give everybody back their money, lest you wind up in jail.
