i was arrested for domestic assault, my case is still pending and to trial next month. i have confidence that i will be found not guilty because the "victim" was the aggressor and i was protecting myself. i was assaulted by my accusor and injuried far worse than my partner. my partner talked me out of calling the police and pressing charges. a few days later i was arrested. my question: when my case has concluded and i am found not guilty, am i able to still file charges against my partner for physically assaulting me?
