I attend a school where there is a severe lack of network security. For instance, I was able to view a complete list of the servers by just clicking on "Network" in windows. To top all that off, you can log onto those servers with any network password (even commonly known ones) and view the entire file structure. There are many more examples. What I am concerned about is the security or lack thereof of my personal data. Also, one of the servers that are seen is the server that holds all of that personal data. Are there any laws that can be brought to light about security and what is required by the school? I currently work in IT for a large company and I see the difference in the two securities and it makes me sick. I have tried approaching the IT director at the school and have gotten no response or resolution. Can you help me with what legal action I can take to get this resolved? Thanks! FYI... This is in Kansas...
