I am going up for a felony charge and a misdameanor. I paid for a lawyer who has been good and taken care of everything in district court. The problem is that the DA told him she would plea out the felony for a conviction on the misdameanor but she is going to hold the felony over my head until superior court and then do the plea. He wants me to pay more money but I cannot afford anything more being that I am a student. If I let him go, is it likely that she will do the same for a public defender? My lawyer can't give a straight answer on that and I understand. Was wondering if anyone else might have some advice.
