How do I protect my idea before I pitch it to the company? I want to pitch a product idea to MnM Mars. I need to know what steps to take to protect my share in the profits.

Maybe you patent your idea, maybe you get them to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Without knowing the facts (which you are understandably reluctant to share), it's impossible to say. Talk to an intellectual property lawyer.
