I am in Nevada and I know that here I have no rights to property or money not held in my name no matter how long the cohabitation (11 years).
There are, however, 3 pieces of property we own jointly - I have offered to sign off on 2 if he will sign off on the other (the least expensive) - he has refused. I am penniless and have few options. Here is the question
I'm trying to live in one of the properties until we can come to an agreement - he has threatened to remove all doors and windows if I don't leave the house - he has sabotaged the air conditioner to make the house uninhabitable - he has turned off the utilities - he has entered the house and refused to leave stating that it was his house and he was moving in as well (he lives in a 7000sqft house - a project we worked on together but is not in my name). What are my legal rights ... how can I stop the harassment so that I may stay in the house?
Is there anyway to force liquidation of these properties - which are owned mortgage free as joint tenants in common - so that we might split the proceeds?
Any help is greatly appreciated I am backed up against a wall here.
