Ok so I signed temporary guardianship to my mother in law on dec 8 2010 when my daughter was one. Was very young and did not think i was able to properly raise her at the time. Sole legal custody has remained with me. Our daughter has lived with us now for a while but my mother in law and I got into an argument and she brought up how she has rights to my child. What I need to know is which of us has the rights to make decisions with my daughter. My husband works and I go to college. We own our own home it is a very stable environment and she gets everything she needs.

You have sole legal custody? And this was a voluntary temp guardianship? And kiddo is back at home with you?

She has absolutely no decision-making rights at all.

You and Dad (I'm assuming that your husband is Dad) may need to think about cutting all contact with her.

Decent grandparents don't pull this stuff.

Agree; if it was temporary guardianship & you retained sole legal custody, grandma has no rights to the child. She's yours.
