I dunno who's who (as far as plaintiff/defendant)or what the abbreviations stand for, why there's notes, etc, any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm putting together a letter to the judge and da as to why this person was wrongfully convicted (or would've been)....and just trying to get all facts straight.

Sorry, your determination of a wrongful conviction is meaningless.
Writing the judge will do nothing to alter a conviction.
Appealing a conviction to a higher court is what people do.
In this case, an appeal must be requested by the person convicted.
That's an automatic process, and I'm sure your loved one has already initiated his or her appeal.
Ask him or her, and advise the person an appeal is possible.
The bad news, 99% of convictions don't get overturned.
