25 years old- charged with petty theft- the product stollen was under 10 dollars- first offense, no priors ever- Really worried about how this could affect record- welcoming all advice- is a civil compromise possible? how would one go about it? Never admitted guilt- It occured at a mall- upon walking out of the store was asked to return to the store- asked to lift scarf where the merchandise was concealled- complied and was asked to wait for officer- officer came and was walked to his office- they took my picture and banned me from the store for 1 year- given a citation with court date and was allowed to walk out of the mall without escort- never hand cuffed, finger printed or taken to jail
