My jurisdiction is: Texas,USA
Is it possible to have owed taxes, penalties and interest removed for years of 2004, 2005, 2006? We are on a payment plan with the IRS and the payment doesnt even cover the penalties and interest each month. What can we do to minimize the principle balance or is their a statue of limitations? Would hiring a tax attorney be a benifit for us? 2007 is paid in full but we are struggling to payoff 04, 05 and 06. These did not get paid because the CPA that was hired lost all the paperwork and we had to refile. Once it was all filed for the CPA passed away so everything was lost. Once all this took place it was handed over to a new CPA and once it was all done we were owing 2004, 2005, 2006. Thank you for your assistance.
