Let's say Jack and Jill are married. Jack goes into the hospital without insurance. Jill's health insurance covers Jack's hospital stay. The copay for Jack's hospital stay is $500.00.
Only Jill files bankruptcy. Is the co-pay considered a debt of Jack or Jill's?

One step further. Jack and Jill have a son John, who is under the age of 18. His hospital stay is once again covered under Jill's health insurance and there is a co-pay of $300.00. Again, only Jill has filed for bankrupcty. Does the co-pay debt transfer to Jack, or can the co-pay debt be filed within Jill's bankruptcy?

Lastly, one last courtesy.... after answer(s) have been supplied, would you be so kind as to refer me where these specific rules on bankruptcy laws can be found?

Thank you!
