I signed up for a company that will allow me to process credit cards for a nominal charge. I no longer needed their services and went to their website to cancel. Their website stated I had to email them in order to close my account. I did so and all was well... or so I thought. I tried logging into my account the following month and was unable to do so. I thought my account was closed.
17 months later, I received an email from this company with an advertisement. I went online to see what it was all about and found out my account had not been closed and I had been charged a monthly "expiration fee" every month.
I wrote to the company and they told me tough luck. It was my fault.
I want to know... isn't there a law that requires companies to notify their customers of money being withdrawn each month for fees?
