I have an old judgment from a company that went bankrupt a few years later. I recently recieved a letter from a Debt collector who says they have bought the account (judgment). I am wondering a couple of things. If I file a motion to vacate for improper service (which it was) on the original plaintiff, would the new debt collector be served. Are they now the plaintiff although they are not listed on the judgment. I am hoping that the original plaintiff is still the plaintiff because then there will be no one to defend the motion to vacate. How can I find out who actually would be served?
Any help, advice and/or information would be appreciated.

The plaintiff is the person who filed the lawsuit and the one who owns the loan.
