Non compete

I going to work for a new company that opened up .i signed a non compete with my old company that I was with for 5 years.i don't think they can do anything because I never signed it prior to starting work .plus how can they refuse me too work.they took two other employees to court after they left and went to competitors and the judge pretty much laughed at the company and threw it out.

Sugar, we really need to know where you're located. Some non-competes are facially unenforceable, while others may carry some weight if the other company wishes to pursue the matter.
