My sister is battling pancreatic cancer and is quickly loosing that battle. She is also without health insurance. My brother-in-law has been advised that since her name is on property and there is no estate to talk of, that he is not responsible for the hospital/Doctor bills. Is this true? I believed that the spouse would be responsible for bills after death.
