We live in a neighborhood governed by a home owner association. The original owner of the entire property kept two lots at the front of the subdivision with the intention of developing the property. Since then he has been unable to develop the property and now wants the home owner assoc to buy the property for a price well above its value. The association declined to buy the property so he is now putting up signs to influence a bad reputation on the neighborhood. The signs say things like "reward for information on break-ins in the area and other crimes in the neighborhood along with other signs designed to make a person think it is a high crime area thus making a potential home buyer leary of buying a home in the neighborhood. Can you find a law against this under Illinois State Statute.

Sounds like the HOA board needs to pass a few new rules quick.
