Need to make payments on Debit

I was advised by a Debit collector (medical bills) if I do not pay the balance in full with-in 10 days they will take me to court and I be charged legal fees.

I told them I could not pay in full and would like to make payment arrangments. The collector said they would only do that if a made a large down payment 1st, which do not have.

What are my options? If it goes to court and I tell the judge I have been and will continue to make payments will I be liable for court costs?

At my current payments the debit will be paid in full with-in 6 months.

Tell them to shut up and take your payments. You are not in danger of them taking you to court if you are making payments. Getting a judgment would not give them any advantage. This is a scum sucking debt collector trying to earn more commission for this month. Tell him/her to stop calling and harassing you or you will stop paying the debt all together.
