need advice asap

I caught a felony charge for credit card fraud, and was senteced to probation. last time i went to court and they put me on probation, they said upon completion of probation my charge will be pled down to a misdeamor. I am trying to find out if that charge will ruin my chance of getting hired at a police department? I am currently going to college for criminal justice

It depends on the department.
Some will automatically disqualify you and others will give you a fighting chance.
Usually with this sort of thing time is your friend. The more time that passes between the conviction and your application then the better your chances.A recruiter for the department you are interested in can give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.

If so , you could start off doing something else....maybe security, armed forces,etc. then after some years of experience and a little time has passed you can get hired.
