NC CDL Holder w/SC speeding ticket

I hold a NC CDL drivers license and recently got a speeding (ticket 86 in a 70 zone) while driving a car in SC.

I realize a conviction will result in a suspension of my license and if I'm correct, CDL holders can no longer have charges reduced to lesser offenses. Only a dismissal of the charge will save my license due to NC laws.

My question is this. Is it possible to get a drivers license in another state, in essence move out of NC before the court date to a state that does not have such severe consequences, thus keeping my license intact without a suspension since this is a near career death sentence to someone that drives a truck for a living.

Thank you for your time.

That's a gamble I wouldn't bet on. A conviction is highly likely to work it's way back to you eventually.

You need to do what ever it takes to mitigate the conviction in SC down to something you can tolerate.

If convicted in SC, do the same in NC when it transfers. (It will be very expensive if it reaches this stage).

You really need a lawyer for best chance to maintain you CDL.
