My 14 year old son was recently found guilty of Unnatural and lascivious act(FS 800.02) after him and a friend teasingly danced around a female bus rider on the walk home. The state prosecutor claimed that the two boys dancing around her was unnatural and the dancing was considered hip humping motion was lascivious in nature. she stated that she was frieghtened of the two boys even though they were laughing and did not have any sexual of harmful intent. Our defense attorney was a disgrace in his representation to say the least, but this has definitely been an eye opening experience that I believe my son will never dance or tease again. I want to appeal the court ruling but do not know enough of my rights. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
