10 years ago I was convicted of a misdemeaner assault and battery. It would have been dismissed but I didn't complete anger management classes in time. Since then I have been cleared through the state to work in the medical field and have had no problem finding a job up until now. Are there laws in California as to whether I really need to report this misdemeaner on job applications because of how long ago it happened or should I go ahead and get it expunged? Can a medical employer really deny me employment for this even after the state has cleared me?

Here's a thought

Do a backround check on yourself. There are lots of online tools (some you have to pay for) to check.

Let me know how it turns out.
