My friend is currently in Prison. He got into an altercation with another inmate. Listed as a Battery. He was read his Miranda Rights then he was fined and his good time was taken away. Is that the end of the matter?

Prisoners have very few rights, insofar as prison discipline and related disciplinary hearings are concerned.

Good time in prison is acquired through good behavior.
Good time in prison is lost through bad behavior.

All a prisoner gets in a disciplinary hearing is due process.

Prison disciplinary boards aren't the equivalent of free world courts.

Yes, your friend's punishment is all he retains.

However, he is free to appeal the matter to state or federal courts.
It's extremely unlikely the decision will be overturned, but he has the right to take it to court.
