I am 20 and was issued an MIP at a party that I recently attended. The other day I went to my bond arraignment, and being that i was guilty of my crime, i plead gulilty. The odd thing though was when i pleaded guilty the judge said "miss you realize if you plead guilty to this charge that i can sentence you immediatly" when she said this it freaked me out, so I changed my plea to not guilty. The idea of possibly getting jaill time scared me, i thought i was just going to have to pay a fine. So my question is when i go to trial, what will most likely happen to me? is there a way that i can have this settled outside of court? overall, i am a full time university student and I cannot risk going to jail, is there a way that i can just pay the fine and get it over with, without going to court/jail? Also this is my first citation, does that have any effect on the situation?

Have you spoken to the prosecutor on the case?
