Hi, I am 18 years old and attend the Ohio state University. Recently, I was caught by the Columbus Police at a house party with an open container. They proceeded to tell me that I would not be attending OSU anymore and took my license and wrote notes down on a pad. They informed me that I would be receiving a call for a judicial review in front of the OSU president. I have never been arrested or anything. I just want to know what actually can happen for this offense? I have a major scholarship also. Would this affect my attendance at OSU or my scholarship at all?

Thanks.

The police do not have authority to kick you out of school. Sounds like they were just running their mouths.

Regardless of who they were or where you were, you aren't going to get kicked out of school over this. The school could take some sort of disciplinary action if you were on campus though.

If you didn't even get a citation though, don't sweat it.

It very well can affect your scholarship. Though if you go plead the mercy of the OSU President's counsel they will probably give you a second chance.
