Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Minor in possesion of alcohol in Georgia

My 18 year old son had a party in our home while we were out of town. The neighbors called the police. My son was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol, hand cuffed and taken to jail. Our house was searched. Closets, drawers and purses were rummaged thru. He was not read his rights. I posted bond for him. This is his first offense. What is the most likely from the court and should we obtain a lawyer?

You should be able to talk to a criminal defense attorney for an initial consultation and not have to pay anything.

hard to know, so many possible circumstances. If the police went so far as to rummage through the house, and you had to post bond(instead of just PR) it seems they are taking it somewhat serious.

(And tell your neighbors if there is a next time to go to the house and ask them to keep it down instead of calling the cops)
