Can someone PLEASE tell me when Probation Begins? I was released from the Massachusetts department of corrections on Jan 28, 1998 with a 10 year probation sentence.
I wasn't released to the streets, I was released to Federal Authorities to finish a Federal sentence (A Parole Violation) I was released from that sentence in Sept of 1999.
I am arguing with my probation officer that my state sentence ended in Jan 28, 1998 and my probation started on that same day, because I finished my State sentence, even though I was incarcerated by the Feds.
That is almost a 20 month difference in time, and it means alot to me that I finish my probation on Jan 28, 2008 instead of Sept 10, 2009.
Can someone tell me where I can find this argument. I have heard from some attorney,s that it is true once you finish your Mass time your probation starts. My Probation officer believes that is not true, but he won't show me anywhere in writing either way.
PLEASE HELP, I would like to get on with my life.
