Lost pregnancy

My wife was around 18 wks pregnant and here's what happened.

There were 3 specialists involved during her pregnancy, her regular OBGYN, high risk specialist (who also put the circlauge during 16th wk) & fertility specialist.

We had to go to ER at 2am due to cramps and abdominal pain. She was transferred from ER to regular Labor facility.

They did the ultrasound and everything looked fine. The baby's heart rate, movement, her circlauged cervix etc. I asked the dr & nurse wether they need to do urine test since Urinary Tract Infection(UTI) is normal during the pregnancy.

They took the urine but never sent for testing till around 8am. Also she wasn't even put on IV.

They also took her blood test and sent it to wrong lab and never got the results back till 11am.

I asked the nurse wether they need to send the urine to check for UTI and she then remembered to do it.

She was put on Macrobid and Inodcin (I'm assuminng that the dr who was on duty that night had consulted with my wife's OBGYN before giving her these medicines)

She was asked to continue on Indocin for 4 days (1 capsule 4 x a day for 4 days)

She was released arond 2pm. (By this time we still had not received blood results). The next day, they said the blood results came normal.

One day later, she lost quite a bit of fluid. When her pain increased we were told by her obgyn dr to visit high risk specialist. The person who did the ultrasound was able to see that the amniotic fluid was less.

The high risk specialist did the test to check wether she was loosing amniotic fluid and he said the test was ok, nothing to worry about.

We told him about previous ER visit and he was very much surprised when we told him that she was put on Indocin. She was then asked by him to stop taking Indocin. We even asked the high risk specialist wether it would be safe to go to labour room and put my wife under the monitor till we make sure everything is fine. But he said nothing to worry about and we were asked to go home.

The next day around 9am in the morning she started having pain again and had to run to ER/labour room.

But by this time she had lost all amniotic fluid as per the ultrasound that was done by another high risk specilist and her white blood cells were up due to infection, possible membrane rapturing.

At this time we were left with no other option but to terminate the pregnancy. This was very hard on both of us since she has had 4 miscarraiges previously and we tried everything possible in our hands to prevent all this.

We also consulted with some of our family drs and with her new obgyn dr and one common thing we heard from them is why in the world they would put her on Indocin since it makes amniotic fluid to loose?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly,
Sam
