looking through trash bins, tx
dallas, tx Best friend lives in APARTMENT complex. I visit at least 1x week. Whenever we drive passed the trash bins we glance to see if anything interesting is inside.
A few days ago, I saw a wooden dresser (2ft x 3ft) in a bin as I took out some trash. I took it out and put in it my car. An apartment security guard came up and questioned me. He didn't make any charges, but I'm worried my friend could get in trouble.
Is it illegal to take items from trash bins? I see many apartment balconies with "found" furniture. My friend will even leave working appliances near the bin so that someone else can pick them up rather than being disposed. So, could she or I get in trouble?
