We have a business that is an LLC in Texas. We signed a commercial lease with a landlord under the business. He made my wife and I only as guarantors and not co-tenants. Our business is not doing so hot and we have been there a little over a year. If our business fails and we can't continue paying rent, we were planning on filing the LLC under bankruptcy. Because we had taken a large amount of unsecured debt under our own credit, we will probably forced to file bankruptcy as well. Can the Landlord go after us as guarantors if we file bankruptcy. Please let me know what are risk are as the guarantors.
