I am buying my house on contract....he carried the contract, he told me he filed chapter 7. He owned the house outright, what now?

A land contract is nothing more than a complicated lease.
You have no equity, or ownership, until you've paid the entire debt.
I suggest you speak with your landlord.
You should begin seeking a place to live.
When they evict him, you're next.
