Hi.

I recently had a tenant move out (unwillingly but we reached a consent agreement in court) of my rental property. Aside from significant damage to the house he also caused damage to the landscaping.

Specifically,
- he damaged the bark of a large oak tree in about a dozen different places with an axe. I don't think there is risk to the tree but it looks terrible.
- several branches bent and broken off a large cedar tree
- cut down 5 year old ginkgo tree

I can quantify the value of the ginkgo tree (receipt from when I planted it) but I'm not sure what to do about the damage to the oak and cedar trees. I don't believe that the trees are going to die but there is certainly visual damage. Can I go after damages from his security deposit and if so how do I even quantify?

Thanks for any help.
Nick
