During heavy rains in Texas the water leaked through holes in the roof of our building.(This was a preexisting condition that had been reported several times.) Much of the merchandise of our small business was damaged beyond repair. The landlord and the landlord's insurance have both refused to pay for any of the damages or damaged merchandise. Our insurance company(a national firm) has also refused to pay. There also seems to be resulting mold in the building. What is the correct schedule of action to get someone to pay for our damaged merchandise? We are a small business and feel they are taking advantage of our inability to hire a big-name lawyer. Does the Small Business Administration ever help with this type of a matter? It seems very unfair.
