I had my BK7 discharged. I knew during my BK 7, I was going to break my lease (couldn't afford the high payment). I listed my landlord to be notified of BK. Now landlord is suing me for broken lease. Do I have any protection under the BK7 that's been discharged. I moved out - 1 week after BK discharged. but landlord didn't sue me until 1 year later. Not sure what my rights are. its a 25,000 lawsuit - would like to fight if able.

The landlord has no case if you listed him in the Bankruptcy. He is actually in contempt of the BK court for trying to collect on a debt that was discharged. Just take your petition and discharge paper to the court and it will be the shortest hearing in history.
