Minnesota judge has sentenced former police officer Kim Potter to 16 months in prison for shooting and killing Daunte Wright in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Center last April.

I agree.

Prior to this event, she had lived a crime free life.

It could have been handled as a misdemeanor. I suspect the prosecutor sought a felony charge to bar her from ever becoming a LEO and/or owning a firearm.

Sad story all around.
